We need your help! USPTA is excited and committed to again emphasize the multicultural segment of Tennis Across America. Please help us accomplish our mission of having at least one major multicultural event in each of the 50 states. USPTA's goal for the 22nd annual Tennis Across America™ Day on May 14 is to set records for the number of events, states and grassroots players influenced in 2011.
In the past, USPTA promoted a series of multicultural clinics that began in Guam, and the special clinics ran throughout the country and finished on the White House tennis court. In 2010, USPTA attempted to host at least one multicultural clinic in every state across America, which helped to spark interest in multicultural clinics again. The overall numbers were excellent. USPTA fell a little short of the goal by only having one multicultural event in 48 states.
In 2011 we would like to again use this symbolic format and have at least one multicultural clinic in all 50 states. Our campaign can be tracked on our Web sites as stars are placed on each state with a registered multicultural clinic.
Help promote tennis in your community and state by running a Tennis Across America event. USPTA Professionals may host TAA events at any time; however, we encourage you to participate in or around May to take advantage of the national promotional campaign.
