John Embree

Chief Executive Officer


John Embree is the CEO/Executive Director of USPTA. He has held a wide variety of influential tennis industry roles for more than 30 years. They include serving as President of Prince Americas and President of Balle de Match LLC. He also spent 17 years at Wilson Sporting Goods Co. where he held a variety of positions including Vice President/General Manager in the Racquet Sports Division for six and one half years. Prior to joining the USPTA in October, 2012, he launched a tennis consulting practice in 2010 to assist endemic brands, associations and new corporate entities in maximizing their impact in the tennis marketplace. His client list included the USTA, Intercollegiate Tennis Association, Peter Burwash International (PBI), OTG (Off the Grid) Technologies, and Donnay USA.

In April, 2014, Embree was named to be on the Board of Directors of the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island and has served on many national USTA Committees since 1980, including the USTA Nominating Committee in 2005-2006, the Vice Chair of USTA Professional Circuits Committee from 2009-2010. He recently completed a 2-year stint on the USTA 10 and Under Tennis Committee and is serving on the Local Play and Competition Committee for 2015/2016. He is also serving on the USTA Adult Implementation task force and has been named to serve on the USTA Sportsmanship task force for 2015-2016. During 2014, he helped the ITA with its College Match Format Task force and now serves on the ITA Hall of Fame Selection Committee.

In addition, he served as Presidential appointee of the Board of Directors of USTA Middle States section, was a board member over 3 years for the Arthur Ashe Tennis and Learning Center in Philadelphia, is a member of TIA Board of Directors and Executive Committee, past member of the Board of Directors of American College of Sports Medicine Foundation, and past President of the Chicago Tennis Patrons Foundation. One of his proudest achievements in tennis was the creation of the USTA Adult League Tennis program in 1980, when he served as the first USTA Adult League Tennis Administrator for two years. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA, and was inducted into the W&L Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.

Fred Viancos is USPTA's Chief Operating Officer. He oversees career development, education and testing/certification programs, membership and multimedia projects. He has worked at USPTA since June 1999. Fred played college tennis at Texas Christian University and earned a degree in finance. Prior to joining USPTA, Fred worked at Spalding Sports Worldwide and at the ATP Tour.

Amy Buchanan

Amy Buchanan is a dedicated, bright and savvy leader with solid experience in all aspects of customer/guest services, organizational training facilitation and needs analysis. Before landing her dream job with the USPTA, she served as Senior Training Coordinator for Diamond Resorts International and also worked for TravelClick as the QA, Training and Workflow Manager for International Customer Care. In a former life she spent 10 years as a performer and Entertainment Trainer with the Walt Disney World Co. in Orlando. She currently lives in Windermere, Florida with her husband, daughter, 5 rescue dogs and a very grouchy hedgehog.

Lucas joins the USPTA after serving nearly three years on the communications team at Orlando City Soccer Club. He began his writing career while a student at Florida State University and has several years of experience covering sports for various outlets, including the Orlando Sentinel and MLSsoccer.com. Lucas has lived in the Orlando area for nearly 20 years and speaks fluent Spanish, thanks to his Argentine heritage.

Director of Communications


John Cornell is a communications professional with vast experience in athletics, higher education and non profits. Most recently the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the College of Coastal Georgia in Brunswick, Ga., he has also worked for the State of Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Princeton University, the U.S. Naval Academy Athletic Association. He has a BBA in marketing from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., and a master’s degree in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in Miami. A native New Englander from Naugatuck, Conn., Cornell has lived up and down the east coast, always gravitating to the water. He currently resides in Satellite Beach, Florida.

Jacquelyn “Jackie” Dahre has worked for Aon Hewitt since 2015 as a Sr Life Benefits Specialist.  In that position she would assist members/families from over 90 Companies with their Pension, 401k, and Health & Insurance Benefits. Prior to working at Aon Hewitt, Jackie worked for SunTrust Bank as a Systems Procedure Analyst.  Jackie is currently working on her Bachelors Degree in Public Relations. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Dana Dasch has more than six years of comprehensive human resources experience with a primary focus on recruitment and retention, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, orientation, training and development. She has proven experience collaborating with senior management to ensure selection of the best candidates for the team, and she is skilled in developing strategic processes for maintaining compliance in all employment and HR practices. Previous employers include Central Florida Press and Hilton Worldwide. She has a degree in hospitality, retail and sport management from the University of South Carolina, and she earned her PHR certification in 2014 and SHRM certification in 2015.

Sarah Fisher has a bachelor’s degree in event management from the University of Central Florida, Rosen College of Hospitality Management. Her most recent experience includes working for Pulte Homes as a Closing Coordinator, where she acted as liaison between Pulte and outside lenders, facilitated closings of homes, approved contracts, sales, processed change orders, and maintained clear communication between the builder, title company, sales consultants, and buyers. Sarah has also been and continues to this day as a performer at Walt Disney World Resort, has been singing the national anthem around Orlando since she was sixteen years old, has been a wedding coordinator, and a Marriott “At Your Service Agent.”

Kelli Ferry brings to the table administrative and service experience along with organizational and interpersonal skills – a perfect fit for the first person a visitor to the World Headquarters will meet. She previously was the lead concierge for two years and prior to that, was the Executive Administrative Assistant in Fort Lauderdale. She worked with board members, staff and leadership, coordinated meetings and events, and assisted with accounting.

John Gerard

John Gerard is a tennis lover and 20-year video production specialist who feels blessed to be able to combine the two. With a strong passion for creative storytelling, Gerard has worked as a reporter, producer and editor on multimedia platforms ranging from local news to nationally syndicated shows. Previous work experiences include the NHL’s Florida Panthers, KCBS in Los Angeles, 11Alive in Atlanta and freelance stints with The Tennis Channel, The WTA and The BB&T Atlanta Open. When not producing video segments, Gerard enjoys biking, going to the gym and (when his aging knees allow) sprinting for an opponent’s well-placed drop shot.

Ramona Husaru

Education and Multimedia Manager


Ramona Husaru is the Education and Multimedia Manager and she has been with the USPTA since 2008. Her main responsibilities include overseeing the continuing education activities, events and credits, creating a variety of educational resources, the “On Court with USPTA" TV show that airs on the Tennis Channel as well as managing TennisResources.com

She is a former WTA-ranked player and a two-time NCAA National Team Champion with BYU-Hawaii, where her record was 45-0 in singles competition. A native of Romania, Husaru holds a bachelor's degree in Exercise Sport and Science and a master’s degree in Sports Psychology. She is also a USPTA Tester and serves as a speaker with emphasis on High Performance and the Modern Game. Outside of work and tennis, she enjoys music and adventure sports, including surfing, skydiving, hang-gliding, wakeboarding and parasailing.

In 2015, Sid was named the National Head Tester for the United States Professional Tennis Association. After a lengthy tenure as the director of a private club in California, he has relocated to Lake Nona for his new position at the amazing USPTA Office. Sid played collegiality at John Brown University and had a short stint on the professional tour before beginning his coaching career in 1990. He has coached numerous top professional and collegiate players and loves teaching all ages and abilities.

Michael Tomassini has an extensive track record of successfully handling diverse situations and developing solutions that achieve beneficial and profitable results. He previously was Chief Financial Officer for L&J Accessories, LLC, in Maitland, Fla. As a member of the executive management team, he provided insightful views into the company’s operations and financial performance and provided guidance with business decisions. Trevor Trudelle brings to the USPTA a proven history of mining data to create data-driven results for executives and board members. His duties as Member and Computer Services Coordinator include maintaining the membership database, facilitating due payments, updating the Find-a- Pro website, and compiling statistical reports for various staff members and committee. He also works as a statistician for the MLS, USL, and NWSL divisions of the Orlando City Soccer Club.

Ashley Walker has working in hospitality for many years at Orange Lake Resorts ( Holiday Inn Club Vacations)  and Omni Orlando Resorts as Front Desk and Night Auditor.  Assisted with auditing outlets, restaurants; processing payments, and training new employees.
