The UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management’s Professional Tennis Management (PTM) program, was developed in collaboration with USTA-U, a division of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), in order to develop the next generation of tennis management leaders.

UCF Rosen College Professional Tennis Management (PTM) students will become fully immersed in all offerings at the USTA National Campus, a state-of-the-art facility in the Lake Nona area of Orlando, Florida, a 30-minute drive from the college campus. The innovative USTA facility features more than 100 courts (a mix of hard and clay), houses the USTA’s Community Tennis and Player Development divisions, and is home to the UCF Men’s and Women’s Collegiate tennis teams.

The UF Director of Racquet Sports specialization comprises 12 credit hours of required work plus three elective credit hours from the sport management degree program. The courses are also available to students who are not pursuing specialization.

Learn what it takes to be a successful director of racquet sports and business teammate through interactive, online classes designed by experienced leaders in the field. Through this track, you will develop your expertise in athlete-centered leadership, sport event management, racquet industry history, sports marketing, facility operations & logistics, program innovation, and business leadership and culture development.

All UF students who complete this specialization will have met the educational requirements and passed the USTA/USPTA Director of Tennis Certification Exam.

Bridgewater State University is the backbone of higher education for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In partnering with the USTA, they add to the Department of Movement Arts, Health Promotion and Leisure Studies' longstanding success by introducing a Professional Tennis Management Graduate Certificate Program to New England, the first of its kind. BSU has collaborated with the USTA to develop a relevant curriculum to prepare students for all levels of coaching opportunities, club and facility management, and all business areas associated with the tennis industry. Paired with one of their master's degree programs, students will gain skills and earn opportunities to succeed in their dream jobs.

The USTA-endorsed, Professional Tennis Management (PTM) Graduate Certificate is a one-year, 16-credit graduate certificate, low residency, cohort-based program. All PTM courses are available online or hybrid, except for a required short on-campus residency. A 3-credit internship experience in the tennis industry is required.

The Professional Tennis Management (PTM) Program is an academic concentration through the nationally accredited (ACBSP) Reeves School of Business. PTM is also offered as a minor for students interested in any of the majors that Methodist offers. Finally, our PTM Program is available to college graduates as an 18 credit hour certificate program. The PTM Program allows for students interested in pursuing a career in the tennis industry to earn a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in a business-related field with a concentration in Professional Tennis Management or a B.S. or B.A. in one of the 80+ different majors offered at Methodist University with a minor in PTM.

Students are required to complete the USTA sport science level one competency exam, and must obtain a USPTA certification prior to graduation. PTR certifications and Master Racquet Technician (MRT) certifications are also components of the program. Interactive semester seminars are provided for students by national level speakers. Students are also provided with 100% internship and job placement through the PTM industry network.
