USPTA Webinar - Athlete-Centered Coaching

Join USPTA Elite Professional, Kim Bastable June 3, 2020 at 2 PM ET, for  Athlete-Centered Coaching: Pursuit of Performance AND Personal Excellence

Webinar Description:
Contrary to what many like to think, participation in sports does NOT, automatically, enhance wellbeing or provide positive personal development gains. And sports do NOT teach character - automatically. Coaches create the culture, under which development happens and sometimes that culture creates pressure, negativity, and comparison.
In this seminar, I will outline the history of sports psychology beliefs and practices and historic coaching norms while contrasting the new, more positive ways in which positive personal development can be included in today’s sports programs, simply through an attitude of partnership, empowerment of the athletes and recognition of the power of sport to create transformed, thriving players.
It is all about asking the question:
“How are the decisions we’re making today going to affect this person as an athlete,  and as a person, long after they step off the court?”
