Online Registration Open for 2015 USPTA World Conference

HOUSTON – The United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) announced that registration is now open for the 2015 USPTA World Conference at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside in New Orleans, La.  The five-day conference brings together the leading tennis-teaching professionals and coaches in the industry to share best practices, and will include a series of interactive on-court sessions and presentations. Attendees can register at uspta.com/conference.

The USPTA World Conference is the country's largest gathering of tennis professionals, industry leaders and representatives, manufacturers, wholesalers and media. In addition to the educational offerings, USPTA hosts its Board and Executive Committee meetings, evening parties, industry meetings, the nation's largest tennis-only buying show, silent auction, awards presentation and more. This year will mark the introduction of the USPTA Masters Invitational, the grand finale of the USPTA Surface Championships.

This is the premier educational event for the tennis industry, designed to put tennis-teaching professionals at the top of their game with seminars and specialty courses from the world's leading experts. USPTA members will earn 8 continuing education credits for a full registration, plus additional credits for courses attended. All sessions will fall under one of four categories: business, teaching, facility management and sport science.

A few of this year’s keynote speakers include Darren Cahill, ESPN broadcaster for the Grand Slams and former ATP professional; Rick Macci, founder of the Rick Macci Tennis Academy and former coach of Andy Roddick, Venus and Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova; Mark Kovacs, Ph.D., executive director of the International Tennis Performance Association; Michele Krause, National Cardio Tennis Manager; Craig O’Shannessy, ATP and WTA Touring Coach and tennis broadcaster; Kirk Anderson, USTA Director for Coach Education; and Tulane University Athletic Director Rick Dickson.

The annual event returns to its original format this year. In 2014, the USPTA joined the USTA in hosting the Tennis Teachers Conference in New York.  This year will mark the first time the USPTA has hosted its conference in New Orleans. Attendees will be welcomed to the Crescent City by a welcome reception at The National WWII Museum, just a few blocks away from the host hotel. Conference attendees will be treated to a visit at one of the city’s top tourist destinations and receive a complimentary ticket to one of three showings of the Tom Hanks' narrated documentary "Beyond All Boundaries."

The USPTA World Conference is also the host to the USPTA Buying Show, the nation’s largest tennis-only trade show, attended by tennis-teaching professionals, industry leaders and tennis media.  New in 2015, attendees will also be able to access offers from the top tennis manufacturers and companies through a Virtual Event Bag before and after the show. Additionally, a silent auction for the USPTA Foundation and a reception will be held in conjunction with the Buying Show.

Registration rates, hotel reservations, daily schedule and more information are available for the 2015 USPTA World Conference at uspta.com/conference.
