LAKE NONA, Fla. – The United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) is proud to present the 2020 USPTA Industry Excellence Award to Kevin Young of Ridgefield, Wash.
“Kevin has worked very diligently to grow our game for his entire career,” USPTA CEO John Embree said. “His efforts to increase participation in tennis have made a tremendous difference for his club, our proud endorsees and in his community at large.”
As Pacific Northwest Territory Manager for Wilson Sporting Goods, Young drove 50% growth in performance racquet sales, as well as increases in ball and Wilson/Luxilon string sales. Throughout his career in tennis, Young has increased tennis participation and grown tennis businesses throughout the Pacific Northwest. Young is a USPTA Elite Professional and has been a member for 28 years.
The USPTA Industry Excellence Award is given to teaching professionals who take both an altruistic and entrepreneurial attitude toward their jobs. They use their own resources and those offered by the industry to build programs that bring tennis to more people. At the same time, they are successful in growing a tennis business.
