Kevin Pope Presented 2201 USPTA Lessons for Life™ Award

LAKE NONA, Fla. – The United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) is proud to present the 2021 USPTA Lessons for Life™ Award to Kevin Pope of Livermore, CA (Northern California Division).

The Lessons for Life award recognizes USPTA certified professionals that have done the most to raise money for charities through tennis events. While the award spotlights individuals who raised large sums of money, it also honors those hosting the most creative, original, or unique tennis fundraisers. An individual that hosted the event that raised the most money will not necessarily win this award.

Kevin has hosted the Service Champions Tennis Classic for the last 10 years. While there was no event in 2020 due to Covid, Kevin's 2020 planning led to a very successful, sold-out Memorial Day 2021 event. The 2019 event raised over $50,000, and over the years, Kevin has raised approximately $400,000 in donations. In addition, nearly 100 percent of all entry fees go to charity as Kevin has successfully obtained materials, food, awards, and event space at no charge. This unique event is by far the largest doubles tournament event in Northern California.

About the USPTA: Founded in 1927, the USPTA is the global leader in tennis-teacher certification and professional development. With more than 14,000 members worldwide and 17 divisions nationwide, the Association’s mission is to raise the standards of tennis-teaching professionals and coaches and to promote a greater awareness of the sport.
