USPTA Appoints Trish Faulkner to National Board of Directors
LAKE NONA, Fla.
– The United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) announced the appointment of Trish Faulkner to serve on the national board of directors as vice president during the 2018-2019 term.
“I am very excited to be appointed to the USPTA national board,” Faulkner said. “As a member of the organization for 50 years, I feel I can bring a great deal experience and insight to the group. It comes at a great time for me as I transition out of my position of president of the Florida Division. I will now have more time to concentrate on areas affecting all our members by becoming a board vice president.”
Faulkner is currently Tennis Professional Emeritus at Ballen Isles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. She has served as tournament chairperson for the 2014 ITF Senior World Championships in Palm Beach County. Previously, she worked as head tour director and marketing director for the WTA, and formed a sports marketing and special event corporation operating four of the Virginia Slims Women’s Professional Tour events.
An author, she wrote The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Tennis and produced a teaching manual for the ITF for the Middle East with an accompanying slide show. As a player, she won multiple titles on the Women’s Tour, including the British Indoor Doubles and Mixed Doubles. She has scored many victories as a high level senior player and was ranked No. 1 in three senior age divisions – 50s, 55s and 60s – and has won 36 U.S.A. national senior titles. Faulkner is an ITF World Singles Champion and a member of the US team winning four ITF World Team Championships.
“We are thrilled to have Trish serve on the USPTA national board of directors,” USPTA President Gary Trost said. “With her vast amount of experience in the tennis industry and knowledge of our association, she will be instrumental in her new role as vice president and in our continuing mission to elevate the standards of tennis-teaching professionals and coaches.”
Faulkner will be taking over for vice president Alan Cutler, who resigned at the end of 2017.
